Facebook has teamed up with Hopscotch.work, a career platform company, to create new chances for women who would like to jump back into the media and advertising industries.

The six-month scheme will see Facebook Creative Shop source women for four ‘Career Comeback’ placements at its Dubai and Singapore offices through Hopscotch.work’s digital platform.

Facebook Creative Shop develops tools to help improve ad quality on the platform, allowing businesses to effectively reach their customers.

The partnership comes following the success of a similar ‘returnship’ programme in the UK. It is now open in Dubai and was launched in Singapore in November.

It will provide hands-on training, mentorship and tools for how to create the best creative campaigns on the social media platform, according to Facebook Regional Head of Creative Shop MEA, Weera Saad.

Saad said the programme is open to all qualified women including mothers or those who have taken time off from their media or advertising careers.

Hopscotch co-founder and managing director Helen McGuire said previous Career Comeback opportunities have helped many women return to the workplace.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Facebook on our latest Career Comeback programme, a first for them in the Middle East and Asia,” she added.
