The 26th Property Portal Watch Conference was held in Madrid this past November; it was our largest event thus far, with 400+ C-Level leaders attending from 40 different countries around the world, among them, Alessio Cantoro, Chief Marketing Officer at Immobiliare.it was kind enough to sit with us for a short interview.

Launched in 2005 as eureKasa.it, and rebranded in 2007, the Italian property portal Immobiliare.it is currently the leader in its market, "20,000 agencies work with us, that's the majority of all agencies in Italy, there are 24,000 agencies in total. We have 1.2 million listings published on our website, mainly agencies but we also have a small dedicated section for private owners, with traffic growing substantially year over year. Our focus is mainly on the product; we aim to provide the best experience for the user and from the marketing side of course," said Cantoro.

We asked Cantoro if Immobiliare.it is making the transition from Italy into other markets. "Immobiliare.it was born as an Italian company and we are focused on Italy because we want to maintain the leadership there. However, in the last year, we have been expanding into Europe. We launched the portal in Spain that is named Indomio and we are doing the same in the Balkans," Stated Cantoro. Indomio, which means "In Your Home" in Latin, is currently present in, Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Malta, Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia.

The 2019 Madrid Property Portal Conference was Cantoro's third event with us, we asked him what he expected to gain from the Conference. "I absolutely love it. There are many components which I appreciate, the first is the conference itself in terms of meetings and speakers because for me it is important to know in which direction the global market is going. Usually, I tend to go to marketing conferences, and there I am exposed to the trends in marketing and how the market is moving. Here the focus is on the real estate world and how it is moving, and it is very important," observed Cantoro.

"Also, I learn a lot during the breaks when interacting with others; when you are talking with someone who is doing the same jog as you in Egypt, for example, you collect and compare ideas, and it's absolutely interesting for me. Lastly, networking is of utmost importance. I stay in touch with the executives I meet during the networking, even after the conference. But I find that over the course of two days during the conference we share a lot of information and everyone is very open to sharing, it is a wonderful community," he added.

Over 220 attendees are expected at our next event - the Asian Property Portal Watch Conference in Thailand. The Conference will be held in Bangkok from 26th to 27th February 2020, and it will run for two days, featuring expert Industry Speakers, Innovative Companies at the forefront of the online real estate industry. The Asian Property Portal Watch Conference also offers amazing Social Events, a perfect opportunity for networking.
We hope to see you there.
