With over four hundred attendees of HR Directors and Professionals, the quarterly Myanmar HR Professionals conference highlighting Future of HR and Recruitment in a Digital Age was held by JobNet.com.mm on 4th October 2019 at Novotel Yangon Max, culminating a year’s worth of learning and progress to the industry that continues to provide thought leadership to the market.

An introductory speech was given by Matt De Luca, Managing Director of JobNet, about the positive state of the market; using JobNet’s proprietary Quarterly Market Report to highlight positive trends in GDP and hiring increases in the majority of industries. JobNet shared with the audience the over four million data points collected to provide guidance and leadership on how companies in Myanmar are posting jobs and paying their talent; as well as leveraging other technological advantages now available to organizations in the market, and the positive feedback in the industry about the Digital CV ID platform that was released last month at the biggest career fair in the industry, JobNATION.

“It is with great pride that we continue to get such a positive response to our HR Professional seminar series,” said Matt De Luca. “Both in the strong number of attendees that continue to look to JobNet for the new advances in HR and Recruitment, as well as from the panels and speakers that come in who seem to always come away impressed with the curiosity and inquisitiveness of the audience. We look forward to helping orchestrate more events like this, including December’s Myanmar Employer Awards, in the very near future.” The two panel discussions that were also held at the conference to analyze the Future of HR and Recruitment in a Digital Age were as follows.

The first panel discussion of the conference, Global Digital trends impacting Recruitment and Talent Management in Myanmar, was led by experts; Ms Rowena Sy HR Director from Unilever, Mr. Tony Tan Co-Founder & Managing Partner from Myanmar Singapore Professional Services Co., Ltd, Mr. Vivek Bhargava Chief People Officer from Grand Royal Group, and Alejandra Banegas HR Director from METRO Wholesale Myanmar, in the English language. The panel enlightened the audience to use digital employer branding and promotion at the right time, to use digital tools for faster recruitment and talent pipeline management, to unlock company’s potential through digital talent attraction strategies, and to empower an active Talent pool to digitally engage jobseekers instantly.

The second panel discussion in the Myanmar language; Embracing Digital leadership in HR to boost business productivity, which was led by local professionals; Mr. Nyan Toe Group HR Director from Max Group, Mr. Maung Maung Soe Moe Head of HR from AGD Bank, Ms. Khaing Su Wai HR Director from British American Tobacco, Mr. Myo Thet Naing Deputy COO from Myanmar Apex Bank, and Ms. Pwint Phyu Han Group Chief People Officer from City Holdings Limited, gave guidance to HR professionals how to embrace technology in HR/Recruitment and how to transform HR to a digital age for boosting business efficiency and productivity, as well as the effects of digital technology on traditional HR systems and processes and describing how market tools can help HR teams to drive efficiency.
