Product Roundup: Redfin Favorites List, Zameen Construction Calculator and REA Group Connect Partnership

February 3, 2023

In property portal product news this week Pakistani market leader Zameen released a tool that lets its users calculate the costs associated with construction projects.

The tool is designed for developers and private individuals and takes a location and area size as input fields to estimate how much the material and labour might cost.

Interestingly for a tool that takes dynamic input parameters, the calculation results pages are indexable by Google with the portal's content team adding a dynamically generated FAQ section at the bottom of each page. Zameen's idea is not only to help out anyone estimating a construction project but also to attract traffic in doing so.

Redfin debuts 'Favorites List' tool

The U.S. brokerage and popular marketplace site Redfin has released a tool which it says will allow users to organise their favourite listings into distinct lists and share them with their home search partner.

The company says that around 70% of all users have saved at least one home to their favourites and around 40% have a list of over 30 saved homes.

“It’s common for buyers to search for homes in different neighborhoods, or to consider renting in a new place before they decide if they want to buy there,” said Redfin Phoenix agent Kelly Khalil. “Everyone’s journey is different, so having the ability to organize your favorite homes according to your own goals or preferences makes the process easier. And since most people search for homes with a loved one, it just makes sense that you can seamlessly share those lists with a search partner.”

Although rival marketplace site Zillow has released several clever search features recently, it does not allow users to save homes into distinct 'lists', instead letting them search through their saved listings by date added and features.

Partnership gives First National Real Estate offices access to REA's Connect

Agents across 200 offices of the brokerage company First National Real Estate will now have access to REA Group's prospecting tool, Connect.

The partnership follows positive feedback from agents already using the tool. REA Group Commercial Growth and Industry Partnerships Director, Marini Gils, commented on the announcement:

“We know our customers experience great success when prospecting with Connect, and we're delighted to now be the partner of choice for First National Real Estate. We’ve worked together with the team at First National over a number of months to come up with a corporate partnership that addresses their needs and makes prospecting even easier, while also providing support for a successful rollout to their network."

First released to sales agents in April 2021, Connect aims to streamline prospecting and helps agents win more listings with less effort. The Connect suite of products brings together tools and insights from Realestate.com.au, and REA's digital platforms Realtair and CampaignAgent.
