Purplebricks' Kenny Bruce rejoins UK team to oversee sales

British property portal, Purplebricks, has stated that its co-founder Kenny Bruce has returned to the UK to oversee things there for the time being.

PurpleBricks provides a full estate agency service at a low cost because they've removed the expensive offices and fleets of cars that you see with traditional agents. Their one-off fee is payable when you instruct us but you can defer it for up to 10 months when you use their conveyancing service or until your property sells, whichever is sooner.

The move has been confirmed the week after a profits warning from Purplebricks. Bruce has been spending months in Australia where Purplebricks is among agents enduring an extremely tough market. Its Australian CEO, Ryan Dynsdale, left last November and was replaced by Neil Tavender, a former executive with Rightmove.

Changes made to the business in Australia include a new charging model, where sellers pay half the fee upfront and the rest when the sale goes through.

On February 21, Purplebricks announced a profits warning, saying that although it expected the UK business to meet expectations, its Australian and US businesses would not.
