Grupo QuintoAndar has announced the appointment of Jaime Macaya as Vice President (VP) and General Manager for Latin America.
Macaya will head up non-Brazilian operations for the Group, which includes a presence in Mexico through Inmuebles24 and Vivanuncios, Zonaprop in Argentina, Urbania and Adondevivir in Peru, Plusvalía in Ecuador, and Compreoalquile in Panama.
Gabriel Braga, CEO of Grupo QuintoAndar, said:
“Jaime’s appointment is a fundamental step for the Group’s future. This strategic move in our leadership structure reflects our commitment to deepening our investment in Spanish-speaking markets in Latin America. His regional vision will enhance the scale of our operations and open new avenues for growth."
Macaya previously served as Chief Operations Officer at Kavak, where he led the expansion of Mexico's first unicorn into Brazil and Chile. Previously, he founded a company backed by Y Combinator, which was later acquired by Kavak. He said:
"Our region has an enormous opportunity. The digital real estate market still has plenty of room to grow, driven by a transforming industry and by millions of people who are now searching for their homes online. At Grupo QuintoAndar, we continue to work hand in hand with market institutions, real estate agencies, developers, and users to build an increasingly positive ecosystem that generates value for the sector and society."
The Group is backed by major venture capital investment funds, including SoftBank, General Atlantic, and Kaszek, all of which are major players in the Mexican startup ecosystem.
