Redfin has launched an AI-powered tool that lets users redecorate the interior of properties using the images uploaded to listings.

Dubbed "Redfin Redesign", the new feature, powered by Roomvo and also in partnership with Bright MLS, is already live on over 75,000 listings on Redfin's real estate portal.

Redfin was the first national brokerage in the US to offer 3D walkthroughs on its listings and is now using AI to enhance listing photos; the most popular feature on Redfin’s home detail pages.

Redfin's editor offers around 100 wall designs, from yellow paint to black marble, with a further 150+ flooring options—a total of well over 12,000 combinations for browsers with an eye for interior design.

Redfin has also announced that it plans to explore partnerships with additional MLSs and brokerages to improve and expand the Redsign tool.

Ariel Dos Santos, senior vice president of Product at Redfin, said:

"Buyers often want to know what a home will look like with some changes, not just what it looks like right now.

"Sellers want their listings to appeal to the broadest pool of buyers, regardless of design preferences. Redfin Redesign uses Roomvo’s AI capabilities so buyers can see what they could do with a space in just a few clicks. It's one way Redfin's using AI to make real estate better for buyers, sellers, and agents."

Pawel Rajszel, CEO at Roomvo, said:

"We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Redfin, a collaboration that echoes our deep conviction that everyone deserves a beautiful home.

"This partnership aligns seamlessly with Roomvo's mission to transform the way people envision and create their living spaces.

"This collaboration not only marks a significant milestone for Roomvo but also reinforces our dedication to making home design accessible to all, empowering homeowners to realize their dream spaces effortlessly."

Online Marketplaces enjoyed a ten-minute game of "ruin the property" to try out the tool. Props to Redfin, the tool is easy to spot and easier to use—a great example of gamification in the portal space.

In more serious news, Redfin's CEO Glenn Kelman has come to the defence of the company after a disappointing Q3 which saw reduced revenues and losses of $19M.

The firm has endured three rounds of layoffs in the past 12 months, saw share prices dip as part of an ongoing legal battle, and is also set to leave the National Assocation of Realtors.
