Schibsted Marketplaces, the owner-operator of several classifieds marketplaces in the Nordics, has rebranded as Vend.
Under the new domain Vend.com, Vend says, "the new brand identity reflects the company’s ongoing evolution as a leading digital marketplaces company committed to helping users make smarter choices and spend their time wisely."
Vend is home to some of the Nordics’ most iconic marketplace brands, including Blocket (Sweden), FINN (Norway), Tori and Oikotie (Finland), as well as DBA and Bilbasen (Denmark).
Christian Printzell Halvorsen, CEO at Vend, said:
"As Vend, we are embracing a name that reflects who we are and where we’re headed—a family of trusted, innovative marketplaces built for the future.
"We’re here to enable smarter living through seamless experiences and responsible innovation. This is about much more than a new name—it’s a clear signal of our ambition to create more value for our users, partners, and society.
"We’re proud of our history as part of Schibsted, and even prouder of where we’re headed as Vend. This brand gives us a stronger voice—one that reflects the values we stand for and the future we’re helping to shape."
Commenting on the rebrand on his personal LinkedIn page, Halvorsen added:
"It's the beginning of an entirely new book. A new company. I'm extremely proud of our history and achievements as Schibsted. I joined in 2007. Since then, I've been part of what seems like an endless journey of innovation, change and market adaptation. It's been truly remarkable.
"Vend represents something new, focused and refreshingly simple. We're a pure-play marketplace company, not a media conglomerate. We operate as one integrated organisation, not a portfolio of largely independent units. We unite behind one vision: Smart choices made easy."
