StandBystand is an online booking platform for freelancers specializing in the assembly of event and exhibition stands. The company makes it possible to search for these fair trade construction companies and contact them automatically to match up their project needs. In doing so, standBystand takes over the entire commissioning and billing process, thereby ensuring compliance with the legal framework.

Now, the company is announcing its first round of financing through WWM with Dr. Christian Coppeneur-Gülz. WWM Ventures is the investment wing of WWM GmbH & Co. KG and is investing specifically in early startups which digitize and disrupt processes and business models in the field of live communication.

The vision of the company's two founders is to dramatically simplify the matching of specialized freelancers and clients through intelligent online processes. The financial advantage of the clients lies not only in lean processing, but rather in the possibility to source freelancers "on the spot" and thereby save unnecessary expenses for travel and hotel costs. This is ultimately made possible by an integrated rating system that also allows the booking of "unknown" freelancers with low risk. For the freelancers, the platform offers the security of payment through the integration of billing and also ensures optimized utilization through access to numerous clients.

The startup standBystand was founded in the Netherlands in 2018 and already has hundreds of qualified freelancers in the region. With the capital from the first round of financing, the startup now wants to first build clientele within the parameters of the German market for matching with freelancers in the Netherlands. Concurrently, the recruiting of freelancers in Germany will begin.

Commenting on the value of the firm and what it has to offer, Christian Coppeneur-Gülz, Managing Director of WWM, says, "The special thing about standBystand is the focus on the trade fair construction and event industry. The existing platforms for freelancers do not address the special requirements of the clients and the challenges of freelancers in the field of assembly. In addition, the platform encounters a market that has not yet been digitized, which is characterized by low transparency. The European fair assembly market alone has an estimated annual volume of over €1 billion."
