Technology isn’t the only thing rapidly changing to keep up with the safety measures needed to live normally during a pandemic. Rightmove has issued a guidance note in the form of a blog post to prospective buyers which includes suggesting they ask real estate agents whether or not PPE will be provided during an in-person viewing of a property.

Presented as a lengthy blog post equipped with helpful and eye-catching infographics, Rightmove suggests steps to be taken and questions to ask in order to make the best decisions to keep yourself safe during the viewing process.

The blog post suggests going for a virtual tour first, before anything else. This is the best way to keep human contact to a bare minimum. Whether or not a property has a virtual tour prepared is available on the listing itself.

The post suggests keeping a 2m distance between persons if an in-person tour is the only availability. Homebuyers should ask whether or not PPE will be provided by the agents before a viewing is scheduled and if the current inhabitants of the property listed have had contact with the virus within the last two months.

The blog post also has suggestions for sellers during an in-person viewing, as well, including cleaning surfaces regularly, washing hands throughout the process, and keeping a 2m distance from the homebuyers and agents. So, stock up on hand soap.
