REA Group Revamps Property.com.au Research Site

The Australian portal operator REA Group has announced that it is revamping its Property.com.au website.

The company, which owns and operates Australia's leading real estate marketplace Realestate.com.au as well as several other minor portals in the country, had not invested in the Property.com.au research portal for a number of years prior to today's announcement.

Property.com.au is essentially a logbook of 15 million properties in Australia with a very simple user proposition. Home hunters input the address of any property they are interested in and the portal returns information on the year on construction year, sales history and estimated price range as well as linking to similar property profiles and to the listing for the property itself on Realestate.com.au in the case that the property is currently listed.

Many portal operating companies have similar 'property logbook' type interfaces through which they seek to generate buyer interest and seller leads for their agent customers. REA Group said of Property.com.au' that it would "deliver opportunities for agents to further build their brand and connect with sellers."
