Julie Simpson has been appointed to Adevinta's board of directors with immediate effect.

Simpson currently fills three roles at eBay: vice president, head of internal audit, and chief audit executive.

She replaces former eBay chief legal officer Marie Oh Hubar as a board member at Adevinta.

Simpson's resume boasts senior roles at big-name companies including eBay, Paypal and Yahoo in a 20-year career. She is based in California.

Adevinta acquired eBay for over $9Bn in 2020 with eBay taking a minority stake in Adevinta as part of the deal. EBay reduced its stake in Adevinta from 44% to 34% in 2021 and today, eBay holds a 33% stake in Adevinta and is the largest single shareholder in the company.

Adevinta recently removed the eBay name from its Kleinanzeigen portal in Germany to decouple eBay in a rebranding exercise.
