BoxBrownie Records Huge Uptick in Virtual Staging Demand

July 8, 2020

Australian image editing company BoxBrownie.com has recorded a significant increase in the use of its virtual staging services. The company has seen a growth of 57% in the uptake of the services in the last quarter, with the biggest increase coming from customers in European countries such as Finland (up 140%) and France (up 93%).

The proliferation of virtual staging is a great example of a proptech solution that, although not by any means a new tool, has seen widespread adoption since the onset of the global pandemic. The choice between having an interior design team come to your house for a photoshoot or having a company like BoxBrownie set their in house interior designers to work instead seems a simple one these days.

Commenting on the trend, BoxBrownie Co-Founder Mel Myers said: “Agents have known about virtual staging and its benefits for a while, but there’s been no real incentive to jump in. With the physical inspection restrictions imposed by CoVid-19, virtual staging and virtual tours have come to the rescue. In doing so, agents have quickly realised how much it can do for them for such little outlay.”

The benefits of virtual staging are backed up by numbers as well with the NAR in the US conducting a recent study which found that 83% of staged homes sell for the asking price or above. They also sell 75% faster than an empty room.

As we highlighted recently, property portal users are increasingly expecting features like virtual staging as standard, and companies at the forefront of listing tech such as BoxBrownie are offering their services directly to portals to implement it.
