"Floor Plans are Key," says Realestate.co.nz CEO as Portal Introduces AI

Realestate.co.nz has introduced AI to its marketplace, with CEO Sarah Wood claiming that listings with AI-detected floorplans will be a "decisive factor" in how home buyers choose their next property.

Recent research done by realestate.co.nz shows that the most sought-after information when it comes to property listings is floor plans.

Realestate.co.nz will use AI to detect and surface listings with floorplans to the top of search results to streamline the search process.

In a story published on NZ publication idealog.co.nz, Wood said:

"We know that listings with floor plans are viewed for 3.39 minutes longer, on average, than those without, and they receive 20.5 percent more enquiries.

“But if a floor plan is buried amongst a sea of other property images, it’s just not working hard for the seller.”

Realestate.co.nz observed that since the AI rollout on its platform, the number of listings showing floor plans in search results has increased from 10% to 20%.
