Info Edge has reported results for the second quarter of its 2027 financial year, and its real estate portal 99acres is now close to breaking even. The segment lost INR 1.6 crore in the three months to 30 September, against a loss of INR 23.4 crore a year earlier, while revenue rose 17% to INR 134.3 crore.
Highlights from Info Edge's Q2 FY27 results include:
Managing Director and CEO Hitesh Oberoi said: "99acres extended its market leadership, with billings growth accelerating to 21%, and Matchmaking continued to grow well."
Most of the improvement at 99acres came from revenue. Segment costs, calculated as revenue minus the segment result, were INR 135.9 crore in the quarter, slightly below the INR 138.5 crore of a year earlier. Revenue meanwhile grew by INR 19.2 crore. A year ago the loss was still widening: Q2 FY26 was the deepest quarterly loss in the run Info Edge's filings show, and the segment lost INR 59.2 crore across FY26 as a whole.
The turn came in the March quarter, when 99acres posted a segment profit of INR 3.4 crore on revenue of INR 143.7 crore. It slipped back to small losses in the two quarters since, of INR 2.1 crore in Q1 and INR 1.6 crore now. Over the first half the loss was INR 3.8 crore, against INR 42.1 crore in the same half of FY26, on revenue up 17% to INR 264.1 crore.
Billings suggest revenue growth has further to run. Info Edge says 99acres billings grew 21.2% in the quarter, faster than the 17% revenue growth, and up from 16.5% in Q1. Billings lead revenue at Info Edge because subscriptions are booked up front and recognised over time, so a quarter of faster billings tends to show up in later revenue.
99acres is still a small part of the group. It brought in 16% of standalone revenue, against 75% from recruitment, where Naukri revenue grew 13.3%. Group profit was also lifted by other income of INR 428.4 crore, mostly from Info Edge's investment portfolio, up from INR 161.8 crore a year earlier. That is why attributable net profit rose 52% while revenue grew 12%.
If billings keep growing faster than revenue and costs stay flat, the small losses of the last two quarters should give way to profit again, as they did in the March quarter.
