The ongoing PR battle between Malaysia property portals PropertyGuru and iProperty Malaysia has added another chapter. PropertyGuru claims to have recently “widened its lead” as the country’s top property portal.

According to SimilarWeb, PropertyGuru’s market share has increased to 63% based on the average from October 2020 to March 2021. The company has reported that there are over 500,000 listings on its platform, showing that it provides the most home choices in Malaysia.

When it comes to traffic, PropertyGuru currently holds a 60% traffic share according to Comscore. Between the period of January 2021 and March 2021, PropertyGuru saw a monthly average of over 12 million visits.

Sheldon Fernandez, Country Manager, PropertyGuru Malaysia said:

“Beyond just a ranking or a title, our position as the No. 1 Property Website in Malaysia signifies the trust that Malaysians have in us by making us their preferred website for finding their home. We are thrilled by this recognition, but we won’t be resting on our laurels. We are committed to continue helping Malaysians make confident property decisions by serving them with the right properties, insights, and solutions.”

PropertyGuru has upped innovation development since the pandemic hit. In fact, the company has reported a 62% increase in 3D virtual viewings compared to the year prior.

Another big project that has helped solidify the company as the top property website in Malaysia, is the launch of its Listing Performance Insights solution. The product provides property agents with insights from data on user behavior, property prices, property performance comparisons, marketing analytics, and more.

“PropertyGuru is invested in the continuous innovation of the property ecosystem. We believe that data will be pivotal in the changing landscape of the property industry. Providing relevant information and actionable insights to property agents will enable them to adjust their listings and properties to better meet the needs of both home sellers and home seekers. The Listing Performance Insights solution ensures everyone can benefit from intelligent use of data. We will continue to seek innovative ways to leverage data to enhance agent and home seekers’ experiences, redefining the way people find their dream home.”
