REA Group has acquired Neighbourlytics, an Australian data analytics platform that provides insights into local lifestyle trends and neighbourhood characteristics.
Founded in 2017, Neighbourlytics provides real-time lifestyle and mobility data, including foot traffic, visitor activity, lifestyle personas, key destinations and accessibility indicators to build a picture of how people live, move and connect within communities.
REA Group said the acquisition will expand the community data available to property seekers, supporting a richer understanding of factors beyond the property itself. The company plans to integrate Neighbourlytics insights across realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au.
Kris Matthews, General Manager of PropTrack at REA Group, said:
“Australians don’t just buy a property, they buy into a community and a lifestyle. This data will help our consumers understand more about the property and the community around it, enabling them to make more informed decisions in their property search.
“Our goal is to provide the richest, most up-to-date, relevant and comprehensive real estate data in Australia. Neighbourlyics is a natural fit and I’m particularly excited to explore the integration opportunities on both realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au,”
Neighbourlytics produces instant community research reports based on proprietary datasets that measure elements shaping the lived experience in neighbourhoods. The platform focuses on behavioural and lifestyle signals rather than demographic summaries.
According to the company's website, users can discover the number one reason why people visit certain neighbourhoods, accessibility tools, and activity hotspots by time of day. Neighbourlytics offers a freemium model with pricing tiers at A$240 per month or A$540 per month for additional functionalities.
Neighbourlytics founder and CEO Jessica Christiansen-Franks said:
"Neighbourlytics tells you what it’s like to live in a local area and what the local identity is. Too often local lifestyle is summarised by demographics, when it’s actually the lived experience that makes us feel connected to the places that we live. That’s where we come in, our real-time data can tell you what people love about their local neighbourhoods, where they spend their time, and how people move into and around the local community.
“I’m delighted Neighbourlytics is now part of REA Group and I look forward to sharing our valuable neighbourhood insights with a broader audience through REA’s leading property brands."
REA Group grew revenues by 4% in its financial filings for the first quarter of the 2026 financial year, and also recently announced that over 13 million people visited its flagship portal realestate.com.au in October.
Recent investment and M&A activity by the REA Group includes a stake in the British property search platform Jitty, a 61.5% stake in the spatial mapping specialist Planitar Inc., and an agreement to take a minority stake in the rural property and environmental specialist Agtuary.
