Ringier's Portals Help Boost Profitability in 2024 After Historic Print Divestment

May 14, 2025

The Swiss media company and online international online marketplace operator has released a report on its activities for 2024. Highlights of the company's report include:

  • Revenue was down 12.8% at CHF 800.6 million (2023: CHF 918.9 million).
  • EBITDA of CHF 118.8 million, up 12.6% over the 2023 figure of CHF 105.5 million.
  • The group's EBITDA margin was 14.8%, up from 11.5% in 2023.

2024 saw the company divest from its historical printing business as well as from its DeinDeal Switzerland-based e-commerce business. Along with the divestment of these unprofitable enterprises, Ringier's marketplace platforms along with its sports media businesses were credited with driving profit growth

The period also saw Ringier buy out all shares in the Ringier-Axel Springer joint venture from the German media company. Ringier now fully controls a number of leading real estate marketplaces around the world in markets as diverse as Slovakia, Switzerland and Kenya.
