WEX and AI.io team up to create voice command booking

January 14, 2019

WEX Inc. has recently announced that it has partnered with leading artificial intelligence (AI) solution provider, AI.io, to create a unique chat bot for the travel industry.

Dubbed Halo Travel, this chat bot is voice activated and powered by Booking Holdings' Priceline Partner Network, developed by AI.io. Halo Travel is one of the first applications to enable hotel and flight bookings exclusively through voice command.

Halo Travel's voice enabled chat bot connects to Priceline on Google Assistant through any smart device. This AI travel chat boy leverages Priceline's database, bringing all of their travel options to the user, allowing them to personalize their travel booking experience.

Through Halo Travel, those looking to plan out their next vacation can book airline and hotel reservations within minutes. Halo is also equipped to learn the user's travel habits to make the process even more personalized and best fit for the vacation ahead. Users can choose from the best flight options, the best hotel properties, and at the best prices all through Halo Travel's optimized AI system.

AI.io is the creator of PLATO (Perceptive-Learning-Artificial intelligence-Technology-Operating platform), a cognitive, neural network powering apps in consumer, enterprise use cases for machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, machine reasoning, and cognitive AI. Verticals of concentration include consumer retail, media & entertainment, financial services, healthcare, predictive maintenance, and advertising among others.

WEX Inc. is a provider of payment processing and information management services to the United States commercial and government vehicle fleet industry.

Since the partnership, WEX shares have gained 7.7% in the past year, outperforming the 7.1% rise of the industry it belongs to.
