U.S. portal giant Zillow has launched a new virtual reality feature called Zillow Immerse on the App Store for Apple's Vision Pro headset.
According to Josh Weisberg, Senior Vice President of Artificial Intelligence at Zillow, the introduction of Apple Vision Pro enhances the immersive quality of Zillow Immerse, providing users with a virtual walkthrough and interactive 3D floor plans.
"At Zillow, we're leaders in embracing the latest in technology to help more people get home with speed, confidence and ease. Apple Vision Pro enables Zillow shoppers to fully experience homes as we envisioned when we first introduced Listing Showcase. This advanced spatial technology allows users to explore homes in a way that is the next best thing to being there in person."
The advanced spatial technology used by Zillow Immerse promises to teleport users into for-sale homes, offering a panoramic 360-degree view of each room. The app lets users virtually navigate the home and even have a look in closets using an AI-generated floor plan as a guide.
Zillow® Immerse, the most interactive way to explore select home listings on Zillow, utilizes the full capabilities of Apple Vision Pro, elevating the home tour experience with virtual walkthroughs and interactive 3D floor plan.
Zillow Immerse focuses on the growing demand for 3D tours and interactive floor plans. The company's Consumer Housing Trends Report indicates that 74% of prospective buyers find 3D tours more helpful in understanding a home's space compared to static photos, while 70% express a desire for more listings with 3D tours.
A key feature of Zillow Immerse is its AI-powered interactive floor plan, designed to help users comprehend the layout and flow of a home. According to the portal's survey, over half of prospective buyers regret visiting properties they would have skipped if they had access to the floor plan beforehand. Meanwhile, 79% of buyers are more likely to view a listing with an appealing floor plan.
For agents, Zillow Immerse is integrated into the company's new paid Listing Showcase feature introduced last year and for users it's exclusively available for Apple Vision Pro users who subscribe to Listing Showcase.
Since March 2020 Edmund's job has been to read about, write about, collect data on, analyse and generally know about real estate marketplaces and the companies that run them. Before that he worked at the aggregator Mitula Group (which became Lifull Connect) for five years.
