Zoopla announces software engineering apprenticeship program

February 17, 2020

Property portal Zoopla has launched a software engineering apprenticeship that the company claims will help build up more female tech talent.

The company is recruiting for 10 software engineer apprentices, who will join Zoopla’s product and tech team.

Zoopla adds that it “especially welcomes applications from females looking for a career in technology.”

The new scheme is offered with the ‘Tech She Can Charter’, a group of over 150 companies which seek to diversify technology roles in the UK.

In addition to the apprenticeship, Zoopla has announced that it will be creating 120 new jobs in 2020.

Matt Warman, Digital Minister at Zoopla, said:

“It’s great to see Zoopla creating more UK jobs and investing in its workforce’s digital skills.

“This new apprenticeship scheme is a positive step towards a more diverse tech sector, which is not only good for society, but also makes business sense.

“We want to build a world-leading digital economy with growth right across the country and are investing £3 billion in a new national skills fund to help benefit people, equipping them with the skills they need.”
