WeWork Head of Real Estate Resigns

June 1, 2020

WeWork has seen its fair share of turmoil in recent years. We’ve covered their trials and tribulations a number of times and the news isn’t stopping there.

The Head of Real Estate for the US, Canada, and Israel markets is leaving WeWork just after two years of joining the leadership team.

Aaron Ellison joined WeWork to lead growth during the company’s heyday.

Ellison said:

"After more than two years at WeWork, I'm incredibly proud not only of the growth that we achieved but also of the unbelievably talented and world-class real estate team that we built.”

A spokesperson at WeWork said:

"As WeWork continues to execute its strategic five-year plan we are realigning certain functions and teams to reflect our business priorities.”

Strong words about a company that has laid off a huge chunk of staff, asked for rent reductions, and looks to change its business model because flexible workspace is all but moot during a global pandemic.
