The leading Swedish real estate portal Hemnet claims that 9 out of every 10 properties sold in the country in 2022 were published on its site and app.
The company claims that according to recently released statistics from market research firm Statistics Sweden, a total of 107,248 apartments and 65,546 detached houses (including vacation homes) were sold in 2022 with 150,968 of those advertised on Hemnet.
The figure of 87.4% of homes sold having been listed on the portal is apparently in line with the figure for the previous year.
Erik Holmberg, Market Analyst at Hemnet said of the statistic:
“An important purpose of Hemnet is to provide home sellers with optimal exposure, and with more than 50 million visits per month we maximize their opportunities in the housing market. The latest housing statistics confirm that 9 out of 10 home sellers in Sweden choose to advertise on Hemnet when facing perhaps the biggest transaction of their lives.”
Since floating on the Stockholm Nasdaq in 2021, Hemnet has made big strides and is outshining some of its international peers. The portal more than doubled profits from 2020 to 2022 and has managed to double the revenue it generates from each listing thanks to supreme pricing power and the unique dynamics of the Swedish market.
