Real estate marketplace Idealista has acquired 100% of Certicalia, a Spanish platform for real estate-related certifications and administrative documentation. The transaction price was not disclosed.
Founded in 2012 by Carlos Compains and Diego Lasaosa, Certicalia connects property owners and real estate professionals with specialists providing services such as energy certificates, construction reports, and urban land procedures. Both founders will remain with the company, which is based in Zaragoza and currently employs six people. Idealista has not commented on whether Certicalia will remain a standalone brand or be integrated into Idealista’s core marketplace.
Jesús Encinar, founder and president of Idealista, said:
"I'm delighted that Certicalia's founders, Carlos and Diego, along with their entire team, are now part of Idealista. I'm convinced that we'll have an extraordinary future for both companies, working together to achieve better results for our clients and the market. Bringing the talent of the Certicalia team to idealista is excellent news for us because it allows us to grow by offering the best solutions to our clients and users." [translated from Spanish]
Certicalia offers a marketplace for securing over a dozen types of technical documents and certificates required in real estate transactions, including energy performance certifications, occupancy licenses, electrical bulletins, property valuation reports, and documentation for property segregation and environmental impact.
Since launch, the platform has processed over one million client requests.
Carlos Compains and Diego Lasaosa, founders of Certicalia, said:
"Today marks a turning point for Certicalia with the acquisition of Idealista. We especially enjoyed learning about the experience of the more than fifteen founders who have previously sold their companies to idealista and continue to manage their projects. We have discovered enormous respect on the part of idealista for the companies it acquires and how they incorporate, retain, and develop talent. We are very happy to be part of the idealista team."[translated from Spanish]
The platform’s primary customer base includes technicians and engineers handling regulatory and administrative filings related to residential and commercial assets. Certicalia also provides white-label tools and workflow automation for professionals managing multiple client requests simultaneously. Services range from permitting to technical inspections across both urban and rural land.
According to Idealista, the acquisition will enable it to offer integrated access to technical services and certifications, helping users meet regulatory obligations during sales, rentals, or renovations.
Idealista is currently under investigation by Spanish and Portuguese competition authorities for its proposed acquisition of the real estate portal Kyero.
