Carousell poaches new CFO from GudangAda

Carousell Group, the classifieds marketplace based in Singapore, has nabbed JJ Ang as its new CFO after poaching him from Indonesian online wholesaler GudangAda.

Ang announced his appointment in a LinkedIn post, saying he is “excited to contribute to this grand vision through driving impactful financial strategies that will position our company for long-term growth and success.”

He succeeds Edwin Chan, who moves into an advisory role.

Carousell cut 110 jobs in December 2022, with CEO Quek Siu Rui blaming his own “optimism” that forced a company-wide restructuring late last year.

The firm also recently launched its property vertical Nha Tot, which will compete directly with PropertyGuru-owned Batdongsan in Vietnam.

Lamudi Brings appoints new Country Manager

Lamudi Mexico has appointed Josafat Olguín as Country Manager.

Olguín has been promoted from a Vice Presidential role in Sales and Customer Service from within the company, where he has worked since 2019.

Lamudi Mexico was recently acquired by global marketplace Lifull Connect, the online giant based in Japan and with a presence in 18 countries including Spain, Peru, and the UK.

Former Zillow and Pacaso Executives Join Lake Homes Realty

Lake Holmes Realty has appointed Joe Gaeta and Kiki Wanshura to upper management positions in the company.

A former Zillow exec, Gaeta is the new Director of Strategic Growth. He has the experience for the role—he spent seven years at Zillow across two directorial roles and 24 years of industry experience.

Wanshura comes in as Director of Market Acceleration after nearly two years at unicorn Pacaso—the second home co-ownership brokerage that achieved a $1bn valuation just six months after launching in 2020.

Lake Holmes Realty is a specialist Lake-focused real estate company that operates as a full-service brokerage across the length and breadth of the United States.

OnTheMarket Head of Marketing steps down

Patsy Walton has left her role as Head of Marketing at the UK portal OnTheMarket after nearly nine years at the company.

In a post published on her LinkedIn profile, Walton outlined plans to travel and rest before returning to the workplace.

She is succeeded by Tom Gough, who will join as Head of Marketing after five years in the same role at life insurance provider Global Life.
