QAPA, the fully-online temp work agency, presents the first barometer of the year 2020 with all the important figures concerning employment in France.

It's another year under a banner of indefinite contracts, temp work, and the talent drop in the education sphere, according to QAPA's latest report.

What are the jobs of the new year in France?

The jobs offered by recruiters and those sought by candidates are still not up to scratch at the start of 2020: unsuitability reigns.

Thus, the three trades that are hiring the most are those of IT technicians, commercial work, or order preppers.

As for candidates, they're above all focused on career paths of client advisory, serving, and personal assistance.

Lastly, when it comes to salaries, a trio of the highest-earners were identified in positions: Technical Service Director offers the highest salary at a cool €110,000, compared to that of Commercial Director with €100,000, and that of Methods and Process Engineer at €95,000.

CDI VS CDD VS Interim

CDDs (temporary employment contracts) are really not at all looking to be very popular going into 2020. Indeed, if CDIs (permanent employee contracts) remain at the top of the most proposed contracts with 46% of the representative and figurative pie, then the interim comes in second place with 30% - far ahead of CDD's 16%.

The sectors that recruit the most in 2020

For candidates who want to put all the chances on their side and get a job in 2020, it is better to apply in the three sectors which recruit the most. That of Commerce and Sales comes first, followed by the Hotel and Restaurant sector, and lastly, in third place, the realm of Personal Services and Health.

Far fewer graduate candidates in 2020

Applicants without any degree represented 15% of the talent pool in January 2019, though this figure increased considerably to reach 21% by 2020.

The same observation was seen across the other brackets of the study for the other levels of study: CAP, BEP), or an equivalent form of secondary school completion went from 29% to 27%; those with standard post-secondary degrees drop from 21% to 17%; and those from universities fall from 23% to 14%. Only the population in higher education (+3 to 5 year degrees) has seen any positive increase with 9% to 12%, though they only represent a small proportion at the overall level.
