Immobiliare.it Launches Chatbot Plugin for ChatGPT

February 7, 2024

The Italian real estate portal Immobiliare.it has today announced that it has launched an AI-powered chatbot to aid users in their search for a new home.

Available on the OpenAI store to ChatGPT users who subscribe to the Plus service, Immobiliare's service allows home hunters to input complex natural language queries. The bot responds with links to listings on the portal that match the user's query.

"This new way of searching expands the users' choice and does not aim to replace the existing ones" said Silvio Pagliani, co-founder and CEO of Immobiliare.it."

"Technology is multiplying the channels of dialogue with its customers surprisingly fast, and companies are required to respond just as quickly to be able to correctly manage them. Our commitment to developing products that always focus on the users and their needs on one side and our professional clients on the other is confirmed."

Immobiliare is far from the first real estate portal to start experimenting with AI. British portal OnTheMarket has built a similar natural language search functionality while U.S. real estate verticals Zillow and Zumper both build ChatGPT-powered plugins that were later disabled over fair housing concerns.

Online Marketplaces has been analysing portal AI announcements from around the world. It appears that real estate marketplaces are still in an experimental phase building different types of applications for users, customers and for internal use.
