The Andalusia Hub project, promoted by Spain's Ministry of Tourism, Regeneration, Justice and Local Administration, will launch a program to attract technological talent with the aim that new tourism professionals and community entrepreneurs remain in the region and contribute to your international business development.

This strategy was recently announced during the visit to the headquarters of Andalucía Lab in Marbella (Málaga) during the members of the Parliament's Tourism Commission, a route that according to the Vice President and Minister of Tourism, Juan Marín, "allows them to make known the objectives and means of the center to advance in the improvement of the quality of the sector and of employment".

The first phase of the initiative will be aimed at offering programmers who are incorporated into the labor market specialized knowledge in the field of technological tourism companies, so that talent and innovation is generated in this field and can be developed in Andalusia.

In this way, it is intended that these new professionals can carry out their career in companies in the region, retaining talent and promoting the modernization of the Andalusian business fabric, for which they will be provided with tools and opportunities so that they can generate synergies, businesses and projects of clear international vocation.

Thus, based on the premise that in the community there is talent and technological tourism companies with international impact capacity, Andalusia Hub intends to accelerate the process so that these businesses can take that leap and are not limited only to the local level.

Marín has expressed that the work being done by the center of technological innovation and Andalusia Hub "contributes to the growth of higher quality employment and less seasonality, providing added value to the sector through collaboration with companies and the promotion of innovative projects and last generation".

The vice president recalled the investment of 650,000 euros during this 2019, but has insisted that it is an initiative "with long-term projection, which we want to consolidate in Andalusia to help make the destination a national and international reference".

International Business Cluster

To this end, work is being carried out to disseminate the project to enable the creation of ‘an international tourism cluster of companies that come to the region to develop their projects, which take advantage of our technology parks and settle in Andalusia to generate wealth’.

During the visit, the parliamentarians have been able to know the facilities of the center and spaces such as the ‘Demo Lab’, an area aimed at the exhibition of innovations and technological applications aimed at tourism that seeks to give visibility to them and bring them closer to SMEs and Andalusian destinations.

Among the companies that have exposed their experiences are Cibersuite, which offers tools focused on Wi-Fi marketing; Opossum, which uses virtual reality to tell stories; Giants Gaming, ‘e-sports club’, a segment that can facilitate contact with young audiences; Ideanto, which proposes solutions for the creation of websites in virtual environments; and Iurban, specialized in the automation of services.

They also toured the coworking spaces - areas that the center offers to fifty independent professionals and entrepreneurs linked to tourism and technology - and attended a consulting day, through which personalized advice is provided in digital strategy.
