The boss of the French real estate portal Bien'ici says the company wants to leapfrog SeLoger as the de facto market leader in France as the market goes through a period of recovery.
Bien'ici welcomed back David Benbasset as President this year, replacing the outgoing Cyril Janin, who replaced Benbasset himself in 2022.
Benbasset told Journal de l'Agence that Bien'Ici has grown its traffic by 20% in the past 12 months, as well as growing its team and its revenue in 2025, as a flat real estate market in France shows renewed signs of life.
The article, translated from the original French, suggests that Bien'ici wants to achieve clear market leadership by 2030. Benbasset said:
"Today, we are the second largest real estate portal in France , but in around fifty territories, we are already number one in terms of the number of listings or agencies. This local presence allows us to gain market share. Our competitors have been around for over 25 years, while Bien'ici is celebrating its 10th anniversary. I give us 3 to 5 years to consolidate our first place.
"We aim to become the preferred platform for users, both individuals and professionals , by offering the best service at the right time. More than just a service provider, we want to become a true partner.
"25% of our listings are exclusive , unavailable elsewhere, which attracts internet users and reinforces the value for professionals who choose Bien'ici as their primary channel. This is a recognition of our performance. Professionals, when analyzing their return on investment, find that Bien'ici is often sufficient to generate the necessary contacts in their catchment area." [translated from French]
Bien'ici is majority owned by The Arche Group, which owns 85% of the portal. Arche Group recently acquired the French horizontal marketplace Paruvendu, which operates a robust real estate vertical. As soon as the merger was announced, Arche Group announced the launch of 'Convergence', a joint distribution offer between Bien’ici and ParuVendu.fr. With a combined 1.3 million listings, the package allows French agents to publish on both portals under one subscription.
Benbasset said Arche Group "saved Bien'ici from a takeover by a competitor", probably SeLoger, which had offered to buy out Nexity's minority stake in Bien'ici some time last year.
