We recently caught up with Marion Chevalier, Sales Director for Iberia and Latin America, for MEERO, at the Property Portal Watch Conference Madrid 2018.

Founded in 2016, the Paris-based MEERO is an innovative platform where businesses can book a photographer anywhere in the world to shoot a product, location, property, or anything and everything they wish.

“We have 40,000 photographers located around the world. Should you need a professional photographer, for your property, your restaurant, your company event, among other things, then you can book a photographer in just a few clicks on our platform,” said Chevalier.

After a photo shoot is completed, MEERO makes it easy for the photographers to edit the raw images with the help of the artificial intelligence on the site. According to Chevalier, the AI is constantly learning how to improve the photos, making the process easier and quicker all the time. There are of course, photographers who still edit the photos manually as well.

Chevalier explained, “We still – sometimes – need someone to review the quality of the photos. It's good to always have a person to look them over, making sure that everything is perfect. MEERO basically simplifies the process for its photographers.” She added, “They've just been to a location, shot the photos, and now they don't have to spend time doing the editing which is normally twice the time of the shoot. Some would say that it's good for the clients as well, since they receive their photos in approximately 24 hours after the photo shoot.”

Along with matchmaking customers with photographers, MEERO provides its photographers with a community as well, where photographers are offered many different services, such as seminars and training to learn new skills or improve on what they already know.

From its early days, MEERO realized that the property industry, especially, would stand to gain from its services. Airbnb is a portal which, from the beginning, aimed to represent rentals featured on its site in the best possible light, as has realestate.com.au with its posts, among other companies. In that line, Chevalier also discussed her goals at the Property Portal Watch Conference, stating, “My mission here is to convey that in order to attract more users to their platforms and retain them, they need to use great photos on their entire website.”

MEERO started out with 10 employees only two years ago, and now the company has over 250 employees.

“When I started at the company, we were only in the French market, and now we are servicing the entire world, with employees from literally everywhere. We have people from the U.S., from Latin America from Asia etc., since we have clients all over the globe, we need more staff. It's great to see how the company has grown.” Chevalier concluded.
