Spanish number two property portal Fotocasa has launched AI-Assisted Search, a new tool that allows users to describe what they’re looking for in their own words, either by typing or speaking.
The innovation, born from the company’s June hackathon, aims to make finding a home simpler and more intuitive.
“AI-Assisted Search was created to simplify one of the most important processes in people’s lives — finding a home,” said Alejandro Serrano, Chief Product Officer at Fotocasa. “We want users to express themselves as they would in conversation, while technology understands and helps them find exactly what they’re looking for.”
The new tool is available now on Fotocasa’s Android and iOS apps. Serrano added, “This innovation reflects our ongoing mission to make the property search experience more intuitive, personalized and human through the use of cutting-edge AI.”
Fotocasa’s Hackathon brought together over 80 of the company's employees from different departments to develop AI-driven solutions for the real estate sector. The winning concept, now realized as AI-Assisted Search, represents what Serrano called “the creative and technological spirit that drives Fotocasa’s transformation of real estate.”
News of Fotocasa's foray into the world of AI-powered real estate search comes the same week as ImmoScout24's launched its own AI buying assistant, 'HeyImmo', which is a tool covering discovery and follow-up questions.
Fotocasa, along with its stablemate Habitaclia, was bought out by ImmoScout24 parent Scout24 in a shock €153M deal in September.
