Fotocasa Adds Favourites Lists to App and Website, Launches New 'Pro' App

March 24, 2023

Spain-based portal Fotocasa has added customizable favourites lists to its app and website, so users can more easily compare properties they're interested in.

App and website users will be able to categorize lists by location and property features, among other metrics. According to a post on Adevinta's LinkedIn profile (Adevinta owns Fotocasa), the new functionality was developed as a response to user research that showed users wanted more intuitive ways to shortlist properties.

Online Marketplaces reached out to Gabriel Ponce Collado, senior product manager at Adevinta, to ask about how Fotocasa came to the decision to integrate lists into its platform. He said:

We conducted several interviews with users about how they use the Favourites feature on property sites, and they revealed to us two new problems.

First, they had to use external tools like spreadsheets or word processors to keep their favourite ads organised, which was not easy.

Secondly, most users were searching with a partner or friends and get lost sharing links between conversations across different messaging apps. Both these problems were delaying decision making before visiting a property.

We are now working on identifying what users of the new Favourites lists need so they can share their favourites more easily and accelerate their search.

Meanwhile, Fotocasa has also launched a new Fotocasa Pro app, Avanza, aimed at providing training for real estate professionals. The new app gives users access to the Fotocasa Pro Academy, including live webinars, training videos on demand, and first pick on tickets for face-to-face training courses.

The app also features its own news section, and also offers instant online appraisals to evaluate the potential value of a property.

It's been a busy few weeks for Fotocasa. The firm recently signed an exclusive agreement with insurance firm Grupo Mutua Propietarios to offer landlord and home insurance solutions to Fotocasa users.

Fotocasa is Spain's number two portal by web traffic, second to Idealista.
