The Global Talent Competitiveness Index, prepared by Adecco, the Insead business school, and Google, was presented for the seventh consecutive year in the framework of the World Economic Forum, held in Davos, Switzerland.

Spain is ranked 32 in the ranking of the 132 countries analyzed in the GTCI, with an average of all the analyzed variables of 55.70 points out of 100, which is 3.12 points more than in 2019. With this result it improves minimally its relative position with respect to last year, when it ranked 31 of 125 countries.

Switzerland leading the first position, followed by the United States, Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Finland, Luxembourg, Norway and Australia.

According to this index, Spain needs to improve aspects such as directive opportunities for women, a section in which it occupies the position 118 of 132, its lowest position among all the variables, collaboration in the organizations (position 101), relationship of the salary with the productivity ( position 99) or unemployment in tertiary or higher education (position 92).

Artificial intelligence leads a special section in the GTCI, with conclusions such as that this technology will directly increase human capabilities and that teams formed by human beings and artificial intelligence could be more productive.

The GTCI includes a special section on key cities in the competitiveness of world talent, among which are, once again, four Spanish: Madrid (position 24 of 155), Barcelona (28), Bilbao (83), presented at the level world as a success story of a city with good use of artificial intelligence to attract talent, and Zaragoza (position 90).
