Indian portal Housing.com has joined forces with international Insurtech leader BOXX to tackle cyber security problems for buyers.

India suffered an 18% surge in cyber-attacks during the first quarter of 2023 caused by a lack of cyber protection for users of smart devices, and Housing.com customers will now benefit from BOXX's 'Cyber Protect' product on its app and web portal.

Protection covers financial transactions and contributes to a safer online environment with coverage including Funds Insurance, Identity Monitoring, and Digital Risk Assessment to mitigate risk.

Dhruv Agarwala, Group CEO at Housing.com, PropTiger.com & Makaan.com, said:

"With this partnership and our ongoing commitment to simplicity, we are transforming the traditionally complex and stressful processes of buying, selling, or renting homes. Our focus remains steadfast: to empower our customers with seamless solutions for their housing journeys."

Vishal Kundi, CEO at BOXX Insurance, said:

"We are incredibly proud to join forces with Housing.com, empowering their vast user base with unrivalled cyber protection. This seamless amalgamation enables customers to embrace our comprehensive plan, fortifying their digital lives as they embark on the exciting journey of moving into their new homes."

Housing.com, owned by portal giant REA Group, recently closed another key partnership with the launch of a personal loan service via Finbox—with applicants receiving funds in as little as 24 hours from the ideal lender.

Investment into Housing.com has been rewarded with a 20%+ boost to its Indian audience, increasing revenues by 63% according to REA Group's Q3 financial results released in May 2023.
