HRtech recruiting startup based out of Kenya, Fuzu, has recently landed US$3.8 million in a Series A funding round.

The capital came from a number of funders including Sparkmind.vc, Finnfund, Cornerstone Enterprises, Aucfan Incubate, Seedstars International, Kepple Africa Ventures, Barona, plus a group of individual investors.

Fuzu, which last announced a funding round back in 2016 and expanded into Uganda in 2018, will develop the next phase of its recruitment platform, grow its team and further spread its tentacles across Africa with the latest investment.

“We firmly believe that every human being is born with talent and that every organisation wants to maximise their value to their clients. But lack of access to opportunities, support and talent make career builders and organisations fall short of their true potential,” said Fuzu CEO Jussi Hinkkanen.

The startup launched in 2015 with the goal of changing the job search and recruitment landscape in Africa. Fuzu is looking to achieve this by providing AI-powered, personalised guidance to individual users, and talent acquisition and data services to organisations.
