NAR-India Resolves MagicBricks Boycott

September 23, 2025

The National Association of Realtors-India (NAR-India) has ended its boycott of the marketplace operator MagicBricks after a controversial marketing campaign earlier this year.

MagicBricks posted several videos on social media that implied a lack of professionalism on the part of brokers and agents in India. The industry quickly rebuked the videos, saying:

NAR-India then called on all agencies and brokers to immediately cease advertising on Magicbricks until a formal apology was made, saying:

MagicBricks has historically thrived on the contributions of real estate brokers, agents, and professionals. However, their recent marketing campaigns have crossed the line, projecting a narrative that undermines the brokerage profession while continuing to profit from the same ecosystem.

But the boycott has now been ended, with The Business Standard reporting that NAR-India and MagicBricks made a joint statement over the weekend. The statement says MagicBricks has taken constructive and corrective steps, including the removal of objectionable content.

Reciprocating the same, members of NAR-India, who had extended support to the boycott MagicBricks campaign, will now unequivocally withdraw those actions and acknowledge MagicBricks’ contribution to realtors on the same platform.
