This week's People Roundup begins with rumours of layoffs in Australia...
Australia's second real estate portal, Domain, has reportedly made a sweeping round of redundancies but will increase its headcount.
According to coverage by AIM Group, sources close to CoStar Group-owned Domain said that dozens of staff have been laid off from the portal's Product, Technology, Marketing and Strategy divisions.
A Domain spokesperson told the AIM Group that Domain's headcount will increase as the firm hires for roles in research and photography.
"[Domain is] sharpening its focus to unlock the next phase of growth. With a clear strategy now established under CoStar Group, a standalone strategy function is no longer required in its previous form."
Domain's strategy division will now fall at CoStar's feet, but its "well-established" product and technology teams will remain in Australia.
