Leading Australian property portal operator REA Group has joined the Tech Council of Australia (TCA).

The TCA is a lobbying group of 60 leading tech companies in Australia including international giants such as Google and Microsoft as well as smaller national companies such as property management firm :Different whose co-founder Mina Radhakrishnan sits on the council's board.

Advocating for tech companies, the TCA works to guide the Australian government on policy that affects the sector as well as facilitate the interchange of ideas between government and industry leaders and conduct research into the sector.

“We’re excited to join the TCA and proud to support its goals of creating one million tech jobs by 2025 and contributing $250bn to the economy by 2030." REA Group CEO Owen Wilson said of joining the council, "The opportunity for continued growth of the sector is great. We look forward to working with other members to help shape Australia’s digital future together.”

“As a home-grown business, we look forward to working with the TCA to focus on initiatives that support the growth of, and investment in, Australia’s tech sector. Importantly we want to generate more tech jobs and pathways into them, while creating space for innovation and boosting the growth of the tech sector.” added company CTO Chris Venter.
