Danish Portal Company Findboliger Expands Globally with Rentola

September 8, 2020

The specialist rental portal Findboliger will be launching a new brand of property rental portals across 32 different countries according to a press release from yesterday evening. Findboliger is a Danish property portal specialising in rental properties whose parent company Reva Media also owns and operates a sister rental portal Bostadhub over the border in Sweden.

According to a company spokesperson, Rentola will be launched in all European countries as well as Canada, Australia and potentially the USA. The business model will closely follow that of Findboliger in Denmark where the portal focuses on the tenant rather than the landlord:

"The tenants pay a small fee, but that allows us to build smart products for them, and help them find a rental fast. Most other companies focus on the landlords, and build their products around them. Our philosophy is that the landlords (in many cases) have no problems finding someone to rent to (if the location is good), but the real competition is among the tenants. Building a better product for the tenants will hopefully accelerate the time they need to search and make it a whole lot easier."

The team of ten based in Copenhagen hope that by automating a lot of the processes around starting an operating a portal that their ambitious expansion will prove successful. Asked whether the company plans to hire natives, the Findboliger spokesperson confirmed that local freelancers would be hired for translations, terms and conditions and local legal matters.
