Domain, Australia's number two housing marketplace, has claimed it is closing the traffic gap to market leader realestate.com.au since its acquisition by CoStar Group last year.
In June 2026, Domain attracted 7.7 million visitors to its website, the strongest in the company's history, according to the portal.
Speaking on LinkedIn, Jason Pellegrino, President at Domain, said:
"Eleven months into Domain's resurgence under CoStar, we're Australia's fastest-growing property brand, up 34% year on year in audience. But the number that tells the real story is this one: our exclusive audience grew 65.5%, while our nearest competitor's fell 14.2%.
"What excites me most isn't the growth. It's the change in perception, the shift in how our customers and the market talk about Domain. The idea that the market incumbent's audience advantage is untouchable is no longer accepted as fact.
"This year we've seen record commitment to new and upgraded contracts, more than three times anything we've seen before. We committed to fair pricing, meaningful innovation and greater value in every premium listing. Agents have consistently told me they've seen a meaningful lift in enquiry share from Domain over the past year."
Pellegrino added that while marketing and advertising played a part in Domain's success, internal alignment, better products and customer experience have created more value for agents, vendors and home searchers.
Domain, part of CoStar Group, was acquired for over one billion dollars in 2025. The portal contributed to an EBITDA-positive Residential segment in the Group's second-quarter financial statement released last week.
