REA Group Launches Suite of New Features

Realestate.com.au has introduced five new app features aimed at increasing user engagement and information transparency.

The new features include:

  • Property walkthrough videos, allowing users to tour listings virtually, assess layout, room size, and lighting, and save time by shortlisting suitable properties.
  • AI-generated property highlights, surfacing key features and amenities for quick comparison, enabling faster shortlisting and filtering of properties that do not meet user criteria.
  • Integrated due diligence tools, providing access to building and pest reports from independent inspectors, as well as instant NBN availability and speed checks.
  • Online offer functionality, enabling users to create, submit, and modify offers directly within the app, with instant confirmation and flexibility to edit or withdraw.
  • Monthly market summaries, tracking property value changes, recent comparable sales, buyer demand, and local days-on-market, supporting informed decisions.

Jonathan Swift, Executive General Manager for Consumer Product at REA Group, said:

"Realestate.com.au’s spring product launch puts a spotlight on the latest app features designed to enhance every step of the property journey with highly immersive experiences. New tools help property seekers understand more about a property and encourage them to take action sooner while agents can put their best foot forward by showcasing their vendors’ properties like never before.

"We know from our recent research that almost 7 in 10 buyers agree that the more information and understanding they have of the market, the quicker they can negotiate a deal with the agent or seller. They're also telling us that they want interactive floor plans, videos, and more details about what's unique about a property. Our unparalleled market insights and new immersive features are all about being that source of information to help property seekers build their confidence."

The launch coincides with a new brand campaign, focusing on the day-to-day conversations Australians have about property.

Last week, REA Group announced it had taken approximately a 10% stake in the British AI-powered property search platform Jitty as part of a $3.8 million seed round. The investment will accelerate REA Group's AI search capabilities.
