RE/MAX replaces CEO after 6 consecutive quarters of falling revenue

The struggling US-based real estate franchisor RE/MAX has a new CEO after announcing incumbent Nick Bailey had been replaced after revealing its revenue fell for a sixth consecutive quarter last week.

Amy Lessinger becomes president of the company, reporting to RE/MAX Holdings CEO Erik Carlson.

RE/MAX reported a net loss of $69M for 2023 with revenue falling to $325.7M, a 7.8% drop from 2022.

Agent numbers in the US fell 6.1% for the year and are falling so far in 2024. However, the company's mortgage product Motto Mortgage experienced muted growth in Q4.

RE/MAX was voted the most trusted real estate agent in the USA in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

 

Schibsted appoints new business director for Nordic Marketplaces segment

Schibsted has appointed Anna Leinonen as business director for real estate marketplaces in the Nordic region as of this February.

Leinonen has plenty of previous marketplace experience from her time at horizontal platform Oikotie, which was acquired by Schibsted in 2020.

Leinonen will oversee FINN in Norway, Tori and Oikotie in Finland, Bilbasen and dba in Denmark, and Blocket in Sweden.

 

Scout24 appoints new member of the board

Scout24, the operator behind the leading German marketplace ImmoScout24, has expanded its board of directors with the appointment of Dr Gesa Crockford as Chief Commercial Officer.

Crockford will join the board on April 1, 2024. In her new role, Crockford will oversee the sales organization with Scout24's customer service, CRM and sales analytics functions.
