Pagliani co-founded Immobiliare.it (along with Andrea Piccioni) back in 2005 and in more recent years has been an advisor to the portal from the Board room. Pagliani was also co-founder of other digital companies - among the most important are Facile.it, LuxuryEstate.com, CaseVacanza.it and Mutuiamo.it. Pagliani now effectively swaps roles with Giordano who will continue as an Executive Member of the portal's Board.

"I am happy with this appointment, which takes place at a time of strong evolution for Immobiliare.it, increasingly oriented towards the digitization of the sector", said Pagliani

My commitment and that of all the people within our company will continue to be to leverage technological innovation to improve the user experience throughout the purchasing process as well as to offer effective and quality services to professionals and businesses operating in our market," he continued.

"I am very proud of what we, together with the key shareholders, have built over the course of the years and I thank them for the trust they have placed in me from the beginning", said Carlo Giordano

"I am equally happy with Silvio's appointment as CEO and I am sure he will be able to drive the company towards the evolution that awaits us in the coming years. With great pleasure I will keep my commitment to the company, focusing on all activities aimed at consolidating the position of leadership of Immobiliare.it and on studies, analyses and insights into the market."

Immobiliare.it has a fierce rivalry with Idealista (and Casa.it which Idealista bought out in 2020). The company claims to have over 26,000 agent customers in Italy, employs over 600 people and has an annual turnover of €140 million.

Immobiliare.it is part of a wider group of European portals which include leading Greek player Spitogatos, Crozilla in Croatia Nepremicnine.net in Slovenia, Immotop in Luxembourg and Indomio in Spain and in the Balkan countries.
