French property portal company SeLoger has announced Caroline de Gantès as its new Country Managing Director. The former Google employee takes over from Bertrand Gstalder who having lead the Axel Springer-owned portal company since 2016 left earlier this month to pursue a new entrepreneurial venture.

Prior to joining SeLoger de Gantès, who is French-American and has an MBA from Harvard, worked for McKinsey & Company and at Google. Commenting on her new role, de Gantès said:

"I am very happy to join the SeLoger Group and the real estate world which fascinates me. The SeLoger Group is a great tech company whose values are dear to me: benevolence, innovation, ambition and friendliness"

In her new role de Gantès will work under Ait Voncke who heads up Axel Springer's subsidiary AVIV Group classifieds business which also includes Immoweb in Belgium, Immowelt in Germany and Yad2 in Israel. Commenting on the occasion of his company's new hire, Voncke remarked:

“This new stage will be resolutely turned towards Europe, with the strong ambition to offer an exceptional and unequaled experience to those looking for a property, to owners and to real estate professionals. New digital services and products will in particular simplify everyone's journey, ”

SeLoger's new MD will hope to bring her previous experience as the Director of Google Shopping in Europe to bear on one of France's leading property portals which competes with the likes of Adevinta-owned Leboncoin and agent-owned Bien'Ici (which just obtained €23 million to go on a marketing offensive).
