We have a couple of interesting investments and divestments for you this week...

North America: Move Inc. sells Moving.com to National Holding Company

Moving.com, one of the most recognised online moving marketplaces in the United States, has been sold by Move Inc, the operator behind realtor.com. The buyer is National Holding Company, a diversified transportation and relocation enterprise operating several moving brands.

According to a press release, the acquisition, closed in tandem with the additional acquisition of MoveAI—an AI-powered moving concierge technology—positions National Holding Company at the leading edge of a rapidly evolving industry, "where consumers increasingly depend on digital platforms and AI-powered tools to guide critical purchasing decisions."

Together, the acquisitions create a unique platform to connect consumers, technology, and professional moving services at every stage of the moving journey, from initial planning and vendor research to booking and move day execution. The addition of Moving.com and MoveAI represents a significant investment in the future of the moving industry and reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing the customer experience through innovation and technology.

Moving.com is among the most visited consumer websites in the moving industry, while MoveAI leverages artificial intelligence to streamline the vendor search by allowing users to share move details and receive tailored recommendations and quotes.

Tim Helenthal, Chairman & CEO of National Holding Company, said:

"Moving is hard. You’re leaving your church, your neighborhood friends, your kids’ school, and countless parts of your daily life behind — on top of juggling a hundred details, including finding and hiring the right mover. It’s stressful, and it’s a lot of work. After decades in this business, we know no one can make moving ‘easy,’ but we are confident that with these acquisitions and our experience we can make it far more convenient.

"Our vision is to build the most trusted and effective consumer moving platform in the industry. By combining Moving.com’s audience, MoveAI’s technology, and our decades of operational expertise, we’re creating a stronger experience for consumers while generating new opportunities for movers and industry partners.”

The acquisitions complement National Holding Company’s existing portfolio, which includes National Van Lines, National Van Lines International, National Forwarding Co., National Claims, and Mighty Moving.

Europe: Ringier takes 40% stake in United Classifieds

Ringier has acquired a 40% stake in United Classifieds from long-term co-shareholder Penta Investments. Financial terms were undisclosed.

We strengthen our strategic position in Central Eastern Europe. This transaction allows us to accelerate product innovation and deliver value to both our customers and users. We sincerely thank Penta for their partnership and collaboration over the past years, which laid the foundation for United Classifieds position today."

MiMove raises €450k in Iberia push

The Swedish international buyers marketplace MiMove has raised an oversubscribed funding round worth €450k [SEK 5 million] as it builds out its Iberia-focused portal. The round was led by investors including Sigul Invest, Rydebäck Ventures and Hetch.

MiMove is an AI-driven proptech company operating a property portal that connects international buyers with significant purchasing power to local real estate agents in attractive regions. The company has developed its own methodology for customer profiling and data structuring for AI-powered search, enabling it to reach international buyers earlier in their property search journey, directly through search engines and AI chat platforms, often before they have even visited a traditional property portal.

The company operates a multilingual marketplace (9 languages supported) for properties in Spain and Portugal. The investment will be used to strengthen the company's sales organisation, accelerate expansion in Southern Europe, and prepare MiMove for a larger future funding round.

Daniel Hauffe, Chairman of the Board and Principal Shareholder of MiMove, said:

"Our strong growth is driven by the fact that we deliver thousands of qualified leads every month to real estate agents in Spain and Portugal. After just over a year in operation, 260 real estate agencies, representing almost 100,000 properties, have already subscribed to our platform, making us the fastest-growing property portal in these markets.

"This is a multi-billion-euro market growing at more than 15 percent annually, where international buyers and investors are playing an increasingly important role. American users, for example, have emerged as our largest user group. These buyers often have both larger budgets and faster decision-making processes, making them highly attractive to local real estate agents."

Asia: Dubizzle Group invests in rental protection platform Takeem

Dubizzle Group has announced a strategic partnership and investment in Takeem, the UAE-based rental protection platform.

Bayut and dubizzle will become the exclusive portals for Takeem’s Rental Guarantee solution, offering landlords greater confidence through rental income protection and creating a more secure rental experience for all stakeholders.

Takeem’s Rental Guarantee protects landlords against tenant non-payment. It includes emergency maintenance cover for urgent property repairs, helping create a more secure, structured and predictable rental experience for landlords, tenants, agents and property managers, while enabling monthly digital direct debit payments.

The move follows Dubizzle Group’s recent strategic partnership and investment in Tern, the UAE-based rental payments platform.

Haider Ali Khan, CEO of Dubizzle Group UAE, said:

“Takeem is solving one of the most important gaps in the rental journey, and what stood out to us was not only the strength of the product, but the clarity of the founding team’s vision. Their ambition mirrors our own: to make property transactions more trusted, more transparent and more dependable for everyone involved. With Takeem, we are giving landlords and agents a credible way to take default risk off the table, while Tern gives tenants a much-needed payment solution. Together, these partnerships allow us to support the full rental ecosystem, from search and discovery to payments, protection and trust."
